Kareem Chehayeb is a Beirut-based journalist currently reporting on Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq for The Associated Press. He has also reported on the Gaza Strip, Iran, and the broader Middle East war.

He previously was a correspondent with Al Jazeera English, and as a freelancer reported and produced with several international outlets, including The New York Times and Sky News UK.

Chehayeb was also a nonresident fellow at Washington D.C.-based think tank The Tahrir Institute of Middle East Policy.

Elsewhere, he has designed and delivered training courses and workshops on effective reporting and story-telling, fact-checking and verification, and developing strong interview skills.

He holds a B.A. in International Relations from Boston University and an M.A. in Political Economy of the Middle East from Kings College London.
